About the Agency

Lanthio Consulting SRL is a small Romania-based agency founded by Dilanth Torassa. Operating in the field of customer support and helpdesk consulting, the agency specializes in helping businesses implement and manage customer service operations, combining strategic consultancy with hands-on support solutions. Lanthio Consulting helps businesses set up and manage their customer service operations. They offer two main services: consultancy for implementing support software (like Zendesk and Intercom) and providing outsourced customer service agents for day-to-day operations like tickets, live chat, and calls.

Before GigRadar: Limited Growth, Manual Bidding, and Visibility Challenges

For the first several years on Upwork, Dilanth and his co-founder managed all client acquisition manually. At most, they could apply to two or three jobs per day, which created an obvious ceiling for growth.

As freelancers, we were applying manually to two or three jobs per day. We quickly saw the limits of that process—it wasn’t scalable from our side.

Though they worked with top-tier clients like Microsoft and Apple-affiliated companies, Upwork’s changes in bidding policies made it harder to maintain consistent deal flow. The introduction of Connect-based bidding and Upwork’s review-heavy algorithm often punished agencies unfairly.

Even if you’ve completed 100 projects successfully, one bad review can ghost your profile for a month or two. It happened to us this year.

Despite some experiments with alternative lead sources—such as LinkedIn, Facebook ads, and in-person events—Upwork remained their main channel, accounting for 90% of their clients.

The Need for a Scalable Solution

As they transitioned from freelancers into a full agency model in 2021, it became clear that manual bidding wasn’t sustainable. Dilanth began searching for a solution that would:

  • Save time

  • Increase application volume

  • Keep acquisition costs low

Paid ads were expensive and inefficient.

On other platforms, customer acquisition cost was double or even triple compared to Upwork. It wasn’t sustainable.

Then Dilanth discovered GigRadar online.

First Impressions of GigRadar: "A Game Changer"

GigRadar had an immediate impact. The team’s daily job applications increased from 2–3 to over 50, allowing them to reach far more clients without additional effort.

With GigRadar, we passed from two or three applications per day to 50. That’s already a game changer.

One of the most important features for Lanthio was Laziza AI, GigRadar’s advanced scanner. It helped avoid wasting Connects on irrelevant projects—especially jobs requiring German language skills, which their team couldn’t provide.

Before, we’d waste connects on jobs where the client asked for German, but only in the description. Laziza AI now filters those out automatically. That’s very, very helpful.

They also started using GigRadar’s dynamic bidding engine, which helped them stay competitive even in a price-sensitive industry where many APAC-based agencies undercut prices.

If we set our rate too high, we only see a few jobs a day. Lower it a little—and suddenly we’re seeing twice the opportunities.

Business Growth with GigRadar

Lanthio Consulting’s revenue skyrocketed after they integrated GigRadar into their workflow. Their monthly revenue grew from $4K to over $20K, and over the course of 2.5 years, they earned more than $440K directly through GigRadar.

We went from earning $4K per month to over $20K per month. That’s 5X growth in monthly revenue.

On average, they acquire one to two clients per month, and many of these become long-term partnerships lasting one or two years—making the customer lifetime value extremely high.

Just one client a month covers our investment in GigRadar. Everything else is profit. And many of those clients stay with us for years.

They estimate they’ve worked on 100–200 projects since using GigRadar, depending on seasonality and demand fluctuations on Upwork.

Tips from a Power User

As one of GigRadar’s earliest users, Dilanth emphasizes that the tool works best when the basics are already in place. A well-optimized profile and strong review history are essential.

GigRadar can send 100 applications per day—but if your Upwork profile is ghosted, nobody will see them. You have to optimize your profile and protect your reviews first.

To stay visible on Upwork, they:

  • Regularly update their profile tags (weekly)

  • Monitor and address review quality

  • Test different scanner settings and budget ranges to increase opportunities

Every week, we change the tags on our profile—removing some, adding others. It shows Upwork that we’re active, and we believe it improves our ranking in search results.

Lessons Learned

GigRadar helped Lanthio Consulting transform their business by automating outreach, improving lead targeting, and lowering acquisition costs. But it’s not a shortcut—you still need a strong foundation.

It’s not magic—but if you use it properly, GigRadar gives you the leverage to win better clients, faster, and at a lower cost.

Their story shows that even in a competitive category like customer support, agencies can win on Upwork by combining solid fundamentals with smart automation.

Final Thoughts: From Freelancers to $400K+ Agency

From manually sending a few bids per day to managing hundreds of clients and generating over $440,000 in Upwork revenue—Lanthio Consulting’s journey with GigRadar highlights what’s possible when strategy meets the right tools.

If your agency is looking to scale on Upwork, automate outreach, and land better clients without burning time or Connects, GigRadar may be exactly what you need.
